Ghillies Thinking Your

Recommended Posts

thinking your invisable..

neeehhh couple things to remember, a bush walking accross an open bowling green is THERE instantly lol..

hiding behind something sort of makes it a simple camo jacket afair..

some where in between you do disapeer..but!! once the local wild life gets wind of you or used to it..theyll see you, not as easily like but they will see you.

squirrels are a good sourse of knowladge on this one, they'll come and have a look at the 'new wasnt there yeatserday bush'.

(for the real life and death shooting..theres extra bits you wont find on you tube..whats visable colour wise to us aint to birds rabbits etc..).

even in my camo gear when iv pushed right back into a bush iv scear,d some of the residents that live on the farm and they have jumped that high they could win a gold in the olimpics for the high jump

I still think its a over kill but each to there own drab colours and moving slow works for me

Ha the vid mint but i did spot them a few times i just use camo gear and face net and gloves also lay and wait for the ones that leg it but allways at the side of there burrows and not in front of the

Do you no think thats a bit of a over kill ?. stalkers can get to with in a hundred yards of a herd of red deer on a open hill with out suiting up like that

same on rabbit.. if your brought up on padack shooting and rural garden areas where the clock work 1 2 3 and none run away.. try where i and many others were brought up lol..................fart within a mile they all leg it!! thats if you get that close :cray::laugh:

like i say.. try the harder shoots lol.

my 'range' of 30 years has covered fair few types, from having to bed in 4 hour before dawn to running around in shorts n T shirt..

my favorate memery has to be actualy doing the 1 2 3 on an open feild in rain, i mean straight line rain, literally sigted up on number 1, took three on the trot out 60 yard.. that was on a very hard shoot..but that once occured over a 2 year odd everyday shooting.

like wise i've just walked up to rabbits in the grass close enough to hit with a stick..again all four times in 30 years etc.. just doesnt cut the cake lol.

popped on a ghillie suit and wooooooooo didnt even know they existed there!..

third post..sy..

hmmm, thinking on it from a learning to exsperiened situasion..its probably better just in drab colours to find how to move if anything, even ghillied up (less your layne prone and never move) you'll be seen moving rong...

so yup.. horses for courses.

Fair enough but i shoot scattered over the country and the most i wear is cammo trousers but the cammo jackets a must need the pockets for all my crap and if i dont get the rabbit this time i will get it the next but i will have learned what i did wrong . i often get 3 out of 4 or 4out 5 just sitting tight they wont know your there . My biggest problem just now is its all night shifts starting at 11pm till 5 or 6 am and i dont see a ghillie suit helping then

lol yeh night time helps.

you've hit a good point there though '' just sitting tight they wont know your there'' the 'wont know your there' bit, when theres a few using the land they know already, when its your own proper shoot the less they know the easier it gets for sure..so your doing summut right

ermm you should see the look on a rabbits face...it watched the beam as it came on down

second best is having to pop your face out and say 'hello'...then wait for the balerina dance and words of wisom sprouting in a sort of 'yu fooo--idjiout-wtf..uhh uhhhh' they dont like it..he he he

side note..just popping shots off into grassy area's..that big clump there? could be a ghillie suit.
