Westy76 546
Only me in my family really into hunting apart from me old grandad who used to poach to feed 9 kids, started off fishing and they were happy I was out of trouble then came the air rifles and catties and got into some bother so I wasn't allowed them in the house. Got heavily back into it about 5 years ago and they still frown on it and won't eat any of the spoils because it was wild hahaha!!!!! my daughter loves coming out lamping and ferreting and is turning out a fair dog women nothing prouder than watching her work the dogs we get alot of quality time together through the season. NEWKID 27,732
My dads best mate took me everywhere with him, hunting, fishing, nesting every walk was an adventure lol I had no worries with either of my parents, I'd be gone all day with the dogs, ferrets or fishing and as I got older I used to lug an old car battery around lamping, the only bollockings I got was for ruining all my jeans with the acid lol My Auntie on the other hand was a twat, a raving anti, vegan, protester the lot, she called me barbaric when I came in one day with 3 rabbits from ferreting.. I was about 12... She's not with my uncle anymore and I haven't seen her in over 10 years... Good luck with your mum mate
kruby01 114
Funnily enough my dad got me into fishing which my mum hated. My mum is veggie and my brother and two sisters are all vegan. They call me a sadistic pig for hunting but I just smile and ask if they want to see some pictures it soon sends them on their way in a mood. When I was living at home I had a few BB guns which my mum used to break up and bin so I bought an air rifle and kept it at a friends that she didn't know about. What she didn't know didn't hurt. She doesn't like the fact I have shotguns now and told her friend he wasn't to countersign my application when I asked him. My sister refuses to bring her daughters here because of the guns as if its likely a two year old could find my safe keys, open the safe and load a gun. It's just silly but we all have different hurdles to get over, mine was my family and it never stopped me so if hunting is your passion you will find a way

gnasher16 30,594
My ol fella said......." dont you think you,ve caused enough trouble without going picking on poor animals "...............but then again i was in my early 40,s and he,d never lived outside the east end You need to get yourself a nice little running dog now and get into it properly ............. Chance would be a fine thing !......I have a little dabble,im happy with that all things considered You have to make time for the pleasurable things in life mate and walking out in your own with your four legged friend at your side cannot be beaten ... All the worlds stresses just slip away ........ Time i have plenty of.......and couldnt agree more re the quiet outdoor time etc.....ive had some cracking bonds with some cracking dogs over the years......just these days it has to be someone elses unfortunately but cant grumble too much

Blackbriar 8,569
Mrs.B is OK with it all and even loves going fishing.Got my first rifle and made a couple of catty's this year (late starter!).Mother-in-law is a pain in the ar5e, though."Why would you kill a fluffy bunny", "How can you eat Bambi?" and all that bollox. The other week, she asked me, without a hint of humour, whether farmers take the sheep in out of the rain!! FFS!!!

Has no problem eating fluffy little chickens and brown-eyed calves! The sort of double standard that annoys the f*** out of me!!

jacka 32
my mam were fine with it as long as i stuck to the rules, plucked/skinned cleaned and head off before they came into the house and if I killed it I cooked it. try and get hold of a shed so you dont have to keep gear right under her nose if she's against it goodluck young'un its a much better hobby than facebook and if you get into it you'll grow into one of the few real men from your generation Edited July 10, 2013 by jacka
