8 years ago today home grown terrorists donned their rucksacks and headed into London intent on martyrdom, the carnage that they caused killed 52 people and left 700 injured, Today is the 8th anniversary of that terrorist attack. Our government and mainstream media seems to be ignoring this anniversary :icon_eek: Nothing on the BBC this morning, although they did manage to air a program on how Muslim footballers are having an influence on the premier league. Today is also the mens Wimbledon final . A minutes silence perhaps :hmm: No not a mention :censored:

Absolutely appalling. One of the worst atrocities ever on British soil and not even a mention of it. Who exactly would it offend if we remember the poor people killed and maimed by those filthy terrorist scum?

I bet the Americans wouldn't even host a major sporting event on 9/11, let alone get on with it with not a moment to reflect. Wimbledon organisers you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Has everyone really forgotten or is everyone being gagged to avoid upsetting people?

My family and I had our own minute at 12.00 to remember as we do every year.

Disgusting how nothing was done at the tennis in my opinion. Even more worrying that a Muslim program was shoved on the tele. It's being rubbed in our faces and nothing is being done...

Cookiemonsterandmerlin. This thread is not about you trying to prove some piffling point. It is to point out the glaring error by our "stable" government in omitting to remember an atrocity.

. Well besides all them what have they done for us fook all. Lol and i know joe benton walked right into that one lol

Well ive read through all that and to be honest few of the list have done any type of recognised military service, most are pseudo soldiers.

So are you saying all reservist are choclate fireguards ???or anybody who servies non frontline???

Yes.

Shocking and short sighted but fook me it is THL

Shocking and naive eh,the soldiers at the sharp end take the bullet and bomb, put their lives and their muckers on the line and earn the shilling they signed on for, some of the others talk the talk and always manage to stay away from the dirty, mucky and bloody end of the stick, wake up and smell the Kenco, soldiers soldier and the rest take all the glory that soldiers shy away from.

Agree I gone off on a tangent but it was a couple of Scots thoughts that I thought was odd and I like to ask why his views is that OK ???

O its that freedom of speech shit you can have it on THL so long as you agree with certain members

And Morton on one final note who the Fook do you think the guys/gals get to frontline and supplied etc etc all on there own .

Theres a massive chain and without any part of the chain the frontline taking the dirty shitty end of the conflict may as well turn up in flip flops and water pistols .

Yes there massive diffrent degrees of risk and you cant compare frontline to backshop shit.

Despite what some member think of me when I was at brize norton watching the coffin coming of the C17 it brings a distant conflict thats far removed from being based in safe blighty very much home to you.

I am sad you hold such contempt for most of our service personnel whatever job they do.

Everybody may know that the lads at the sharp end need supplying, feeding, arming and looking after, the thing is its easier to work from the rear servicing the lads doing the ground work than it is to do the ground work away from the bullets and still wanting part of the glory gateau, fact.

Same here  .... i remember it like yesterday my daughter was 2 minutes away from the bus in Tavistock Square doing her third ever day of work, poor little cow was scared shitless......sicken me the way we are gagged and told to forget about things when we have to listen to this vile regurgitated Stephen Lawrence f****n bollocks for 20 years :censored:
