*The*Field*Marshall* 674
Okay chaps, back to finish what I started. . I'll say now, I shouldn't have started this thread, I hadn't seen the fight until tonight! . . Good points made on this thread, especially those raised by satan80 as has already been acknowledged. I have to agree, I think the occasion got to him and he was found wanting in the "non physical" areas of a fighters armoury. . Now it's easier to appreciate the following illustrations if you've had the experience of being inclosed by ropes and the canvass beneath your feet and I'm not knocking the thoughts of those who haven't. . But the feeling of pressure and nervousness can create and cause physical impairment and implications untold, tension in the muscles will sap you of your energy much like it would if you was trying to push a car up a hill (alone) and siphon air from your lungs like a vacuum, it is crazy. . So my own conclusion, similar to others, I thought Price started brightly, first two round good, but due to the aforementioned contributing factors he was as previously stated "gassed" by the end of round 2, you could see between rounds 2 and 3 (just after flooring Thompson) Price was breathing heavily, Thompson was okay!! And that's the thing, the yank is highly experienced, been there and done on the big stage dozens of times over, he's no mug! He remained relaxed at all times, he didn't over react even when in trouble and that was the difference. . As for those who say he jacked mmm, well, I personally think he was utterly exhausted. . Although I see your points, difficult for me to understand, he looked away (out of the ring) when he was under fire at the end, this usually means "enough is enough" but I whilst I know the feeling of being exhausted at 12st, I can't imagine how it feels being 18st and spent! It's easy to speculate. .
