pie-eater 377
Meat will slowly lose some nutritional value when frozen for long periods of time but not enough to worry about I wouldn't have thought. Still beats the dry food imo. Quote Link to post

Stretch177 39
Yeah I also read/glanced over it while at work and thought he was joking. But having read it again I'm sure he's serious. Yeah same here, rabbit gets jumped on straight away and I love it when I go in the next morning and all that's left is the fur and lower jaw. Quote Link to post
Alcatraz 16
This is my opinion its each to there own some give cat food dog food but we know ferrets need at least 35% protein in there diet cat food is mainly veg ingredients with around 15% protein as for rabbit there is a higher rate of protein in fresh im not saying frozen is bad and should not be given I just dont. As for d.o.c most people know they are amazing for ferrets skinned and deyoked with J.w but like I said this is my opinion 1 off my mates has some around 9 and still work Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
It's the lack of fat as well as certain vitamins in rabbit that causes rabbit starvation: if people who got rabbit starvation had eaten the whole rabbit, guts, brains (brains are quite fatty) and all, there wouldn't have been a problem. OK, rabbits are less fatty at certain times of the year, but ferrets evolved to eat whole rabbits. Ours seldom get anything else and they live to a ripe old age in general ... even on frozen rabbit.
