as anyone ever encountered any gamekeepers that have been jealous or phoned the police on them, i have been out this week lamping with some youngsters and on wednesday night whilst out and on the opposite side of the road to where i have permission the dogs needed a pee. i saw the under keeper from the other estate across had passed us i recently had a bit of conflict with him as i had been with a good friend years ago and shot nine foxes .when he saw them he asked me in a nice polite way would i not shoot them anymore as he liked shooting them himself ,i said no if they are on my permission ,i think he took it bad so like i say he had passed me the other night and saw the dogs out asked what i was up to i just told him i was just letting the dogs empty thereselves ,so we let the dogs do the stuff 10 minutes after this he came passed again by this time it was getting dark so we thought we would leave it another 15 minutes for it to get darker ,the slimey git had phoned the police and lo and behold the armed response unit came, he had told them that we had fire-arms and we had only 2 young lurchers in the back how sly is that ? then we found out that he had become the head keeper ,the police officers then asked me to prove i had permission to which i said that it was late not to wake the owners up i would bring written permission in luckily the people who owned the land strolled past and told the officer i had permission how jealous is that arsehole

you do NOT need written permission to hunt on land, as long as you have a verbal agreement with the landowner and are operating within the law. iv know a few land owners either take permission off folks or tell lies an say they had no right to be there after being woke up at an unreasonable hour to check out claims. so written permission is always good to have, but it aint needed............

I have few places with permission, not written but the farmers know me well.

As these Farmers are up at an early hour, and I would only expect the Police if being stopped to phone them at a decent hour, and not during the night.

Then we found out that he had become the head keeper, the police officers then asked me to prove I had permission to which i said that it was late not to wake the owners up I would bring written permission in luckily the people who owned the land strolled past and told the officer i had permission how jealous is that arsehole

The majority of keepers are hard working individuals and have enough on their plate, especially at this time of year, the majority of lurcher owners are as hard working and dedicated, the twats that are the minority spoil it for both camps.A keeper will obviously call on the assistance of the police if needed, its often needed. At this time of year with the hours the average keeper puts in,the last thing he needs or wants is some summer hunters straying on his patch,or even near it.A little inconvenience,at times,is to be expected when pursuing your chosen lifestyle.
