Jealous Gamekeepers

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever encountered any gamekeepers that have been jealous or phoned the police on them? I have been out this week lamping with some youngsters and on wednesday night whilst out and on the opposite side of the road to where I have permission the dogs needed a pee. I saw the under keeper from the other estate across had passed us i recently had a bit of conflict with him as i had been with a good friend years ago and shot nine foxes. When he saw them he asked me in a nice polite way would I not shoot them anymore as he liked shooting them himself, I said no if they are on my permission, I think he took it bad so like i say he had passed me the other night and saw the dogs out asked what i was up to i just told him I was just letting the dogs empty thereselves, so we let the dogs do the stuff 10 minutes after this he came passed again by this time it was getting dark so we thought we would leave it another 15 minutes for it to get darker, the slimey git had phoned the police and lo and behold the armed response unit came, he had told them that we had fire-arms and we had only 2 young lurchers in the back how sly is that? Then we found out that he had become the head keeper, the police officers then asked me to prove I had permission to which i said that it was late not to wake the owners up I would bring written permission in luckily the people who owned the land strolled past and told the officer i had permission how jealous is that arsehole

Learn from this. Get the permission on a slip of paper. Put it inside a sealed, plastic slip wallet. Carry it Everywhere.

Last (Only) time I was walking down the road with my rifle, was stopped and asked if I had my license? I smilingly said, " Of course! It's right in my pocket here. Along with the guns magazine, look  "

Simplest little things, like that, can make potential problems just go away in an instant. Better? They can mark You down as a decent guy ..... ;)
