Hard Dig Today Ferreting

well me and nigel nipped out today for a bit of ferret food for the kits 1st dig just over 6ft finally dug down to tunnel after an hr must say nigel wouldnt give up credit to him had to drag him out a couple of times by his legs think youll be aching in the morning mate lol then things got better straight bolt in to the net then final hole yeah another dig luckily only 2ft 2 nice big rabbits let you have the other bunny mate after that first dig i had enough think you did as well skye marked well again today and nigels 8 month old jill worked brilliantly top ferret there mate speak to you soon nigel cheers charlie

and i find feeding flesh to the ferrets this time of year a pain in the ass anyway.

Fairplay lads. . . . there are a lot easier ways to get ferret food this time of year than digging big holes

you have to go like next week a farmer has asked me to clear a horse field for him so i I had a look last nite and counted 20 plus rabbits I have just got that permission what do you think he would say if I said sorry can you wait till sept he wud say f... O... And some 1 else wud gladly do it so don't judge ppl for ferreting at this time of year if a farmer asks

But it was a good day out but warm and bye the way Charlie I want a pup off sky if ever she has one she brill not gets past here so see you next week on that new perm

I know what you are saying mate, all i'm saying is there are easier ways

 

I had to sort out a horse place next door. . . . . or they were going to get them all wiped out and permission would be lost etc. So had a look about with the lamp and dog a couple of nights, and if that hadn't worked it'd have been air rifle or snares.

 

I just hate wasting time pointlessly and it being a real chore. But well done for gettng out and getting the young ferrets going

If you want to get out for a bit of ferreting, no matter what time of year it is, who gives a rip what other people think, get out there and enjoy what you love to do. Fair play to you mate!!!! bet it was great just getting out there doing what you enjoy!!!!!!!

cheers for the replies lads but at the end of the day just trying to keep the landowner happy were not wiping them out as theres hundreds on there and theyll wait till winter as long as the farmer sees us walking away with a couple of rabbits hes happy and we are happy if i breed skye nigel yeah you can have a pup off her no probs thanks for the day out mate really appreciate it cheers

Hi charlie Just been up kennels to feed dogs had a quick look at the field counted 7 black ones some small some big further down field at least twenty others no wonder he wants them clearing next week never got down to next fields but he has got an injured horse due to them so I said we will be down next week atb Charlie I'm ready but he has diggers on site lol

You either do it of lose permission, we where out saturday at the request of the landowner! cant get my head round why people have a go when someone ferreting in summer! if you dont keep the famer happy where the hell you gunner go in winter!!

There other easier ways and just been seem about the place taking the odd few rabbits will usually keep a farmer sweet
