Not right at all, my mates bitch is out and out catcher. Done 20+ many a time on lamp . will run all night . caught all types of game but she wont run doubled with dog she don't know or dogs bigger then her . Single she never picked any runs and never pulled up even after run after run, on ground all over this island, she was hit by a dog 29tts 80lb when the idiot let him off on her run. Hit her hard. Proper t boned her. Ever since then she never ran doubled. So does this mean she is a jacker and should be PTS ?????

:hmm: I've seen one or two dogs act like that Paul..

As for silly feckers who slip their lurcher onto a dog running a rabbit,.or whatever,..coming straight down the beam towards ya,.well,.this is an extremely dangerous practice,.and the dopey feckers need to get their act together... :censored:

So, getting back to your mates dog,.no, I don't consider this to be the action of a lurcher that quite plainly doesn't want to continue with a chase,..and who simply peels off,.. and gives up...but more a cautious response to a previously bad experience.... and the pain that went with it...

For a dog to actually quit,.it has to be running in the first fecking place....standing and watching,.ain't quite the same thing...

Mind you,.I don't do much lamping these days,.so,.I might well be wrong....

All the best, Phil.

He wasn't talking about mine I was just mentioning a bitch I happen to go out with. got very good drive and stamina and will tuck into anything BUT she will not run double. That hit changed her view on other mutts odd thing is if the bambi was legal I'd say she would do quite well just that hit has stook with her. That was the last night I ever went with the t??t who let his dog off intentional. If she wasn't a strong bitch she would be with the stars

a mate who I run daytime with sometimes brings along a mate who regularly does this slips ,slips his dog in when the quarry is tied up and about to be caught. right feckin pain in the arse he is and this is after being told at start of day not to do it .and to make matters worse he should know better cos he is far far from being a youngster . :icon_redface::icon_redface:

Dogs turning off rabbits and hares when they are fit and healthy are waste of space..

Choosey dogs are more workable if you know the dogs qwirks.... Would imagine its still a pain and a disappointment to the handler.

But ones that give up more than they try are just pointless..

Between mine and my pals, we have ran a few different dogs together. Some run in synergy and seem made for each other and some are dangerous and a disaster waiting to happen...

Ran a young dog with a older dog, young dog kept holding back and never struck, when you could tell it had the opportunity. We put this down to subservience and being scared of the dominate bitch.. previous catch was halved and teeth were flashing waste of time

If one packed in on me, I would not chuck the towel in straight off and would give it a few chances.

It would be like base ball 3 strikes and your out. It takes to much effort to keep rubbish and it must be so dishearten, when you have had charges capable of ploughing on and ploughing some more.

Have you came across any qwitters Aaron ?
