BSA nath 2
hi all , I need to clean my bsa scorpion but don't know what method , ive heard not to use a rod incase of doing damage to the crown and the best way is to use a pull through, but ive also seen cheaper ways of doing so any advice would be a great help cheers 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
1) Rod. No danger to the crown as long as you can get the rod down the barrel so do not attempt after several pints of chosen falling down water! 2) Pull through. Can be a beggar to get through a silencer if it is fixed to the gun (not a problem the Scorpion suffers from). 3) Cleaning Felt Pellets. Fire through like pellets. Make sure silencer removed as when they leave the barrel they expand! Edited July 4, 2013 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
A stiff brass brush on a rod aint going to damage the steel of a barrel I have a nylon brush on a stainless steel flexable wire (used by the BA for the SA80's) But before that I used to (and on occasion still do) used to get a length of wire/string/fishing line, tie a loop in the end put it down the barrel, then out of the breech, stick in a sliver of baby arse wipe into the loop and pull it through, repeat until clean Simple as that! 1 Quote Link to post
porkybella 284
I use a napier pull thru cost me £20 i think. Quote Link to post
xraiderx 94
I use a length of fishing braid with a small loop on one end Then feed it down from the mussle end. If you have a silencer on just use a drinking straw to to get to the braid past the inturnals Then baby wipes dried and cut into about 100x50mm strips quick sqirt of wd40 not to much pulled through till they come out clean then some dry ones to remove any of the wd job done CHEERS GARRICK. pie-eater 377
I use a napier pull through. Huntersvermin has a good video on youtube on how to clean your barrel. Quote Link to post
