hi all my kits are almost 7 week i have had them from 6 week and handle them evey day 1 of them gives a littal nip naw and then just playing i think but the other just bits all the time and draws blood is this play or not it not that pain full but seems like it dont like been picked up am i handling them enuf i handle 10 mins in morning and about 1h at night also will they nip/bite more if there hungry

Have to ask though,,, how on earth did you get week old kits !?? they are very young still, so you have plenty time, but I hope they weren`t taken from teh jill at that age.

6 weeks is still pretty young to be from the jill, not that i'm an expert and wouldn't mind being corrected. I don't think I'd let my present litters go that early

My kit was 6 weeks when I got him, guess some breeders prefer selling them earlier.

Liek I said, just persvere, and be gentle, they rarely need any rough stuff.

Just feed them handle them daily as much as you can and they should turn out okay

Try not to react when it bites you and start making it a game, they all nip and chew when young but they will stop faster if they don't get any reaction from it because they are just trying to start a game. If it's still doing it in a month then you might want to stop playing for 30 seconds each time it bites too hard and it should get the idea, I don't think they will learn from anything too subtle or too harsh.

My kits are nipping a bit when hungry though not to hard. It's more of a "is it edible" sort of bite. They're handled well and should come round given time.
