Why do you say ex triploid brood fish?

Because that is what it is. The female brood trout are injected with hormones that make the resulting offspring gender netural. They are neither male or female. Ergo because the offspring cannot breed they grow quicker as they do not come into breeding condition. When a brood fish has reached the end of productive egg producing they are let loose in the pond for people to catch.
