Country Joe 1,411
interesting post one lad who was fishing for bass in the Solway Scottish side told me used a breeze block dug into the sand to hold his net, and the tide still moved it. Quote Link to post

gazjon5 814
When setting off the beach i used to use 5kg cqr anchors with the swivelling head both ends with a few feet of chain, dug in around 2ft (or as deep as i could if the sand was wet). I had the odd one (end) pull out sometimes on a big tide, but never had one dissapear down the coast! Great thread and photos, Gaz. Edited September 22, 2013 by gazjon5 Quote Link to post

Bell going by what i know from my "encounters" and a good friends numerous encounters you may get off fairly lightly for a first time, but you WIll lose the net and fish and may have other equipment taken as evidence or seized for good. at worst you will lose your car if you have used it and get a fine normaly around one to two thousand pounds, so you realy have to work out if its worth it! bell 3,602
PK I try and walk on the right side of the path. ......under what circumstances can I shoot a net when nowhere near a 'silver tourist' route.......I'm well aware I can't net anywhere near where salmonoids run.......... perthshire keeper 1,239
it realy depends on your loaction and more inportantly bylaws for that area, this island of yours on the nw wouldent begin with W would it? Quote Link to post
BIGLURKS 874
One of the best things I've found for anchors are dredging swords I've never had one come out in 15 years of setting a net and you can't get them out easy easy Quote Link to post
