send your spaniel in to undergrowth tall grass,brambles etc,and it should flush out rabbits for your whippet to catch.eventually your whippet will learn to read the spaniels ways and place itself .where the rabbit will bolt.

We all ride around on horse with red coats on hitting the bushes with sticks instead of hunting poor little fluffy wuffy animals
