FUJI 17,327
Up early doors as the wee un had a bad night with teething problems, weather was fantastic as I set off UNTIL I pulled up in the car park just before 5am..it was on with the waterproofs and off we went..mapmyrun on my phone stopped when I returned to the motor at 1.45pm lol on 21.24 miles! I was knackered, the pups are still in their beds now,Ruby the Pom is out again with my lass on a six mile stint haha..27 miles plus for that wee rat :-) she is absolutely endless, the fecker was wanting me to throw stones for her when I crawled back to the motor after 21 miles haha...I walked a few hills in the process,Haystacks being one of them and it was the first time I've done it,there are a couple of tarns up on top,Innominate Tarn being one, this is where the ashes of Alfred Wainwright are scattered..I'm sure one or two will have heard of him and his books that he wrote about the Fells?..The last couple of hundred feet up Haystacks is more a scramble then a walk,it was blowing a hurricane and the rain was endless too so I wasn't to keen on going back the way I went so I had a bloody long detour infact I tried to phone my other half to come for me haha but alas I had no fecking signal!!! So we had no option but to march back up and over Scarth Gap from Buttermere..I was dreading it but the car was still nigh on 8 mile away on the otherside of the mountains :-( I will NOT be in no rush to do this walk again... Guest thebigdog
christ at this rate you'll not need the dogs come start of the season, you'll be fit enough to catch the game your self. 7 Quote Link to post
