OK i have no experience of catching these little b*****ds except seeing them in a trap once or twice where is the best place to buy these traps how do i lay them ( i have a vague memory of seeing this done but can not remember how to locate the tunnel) i haven't had a mole in the horses fields in five years and now i have i want rid ! ( i think he has moved up hill with all the rain we have had ) any advice on how to get shot of this little shit appreciated :D

Try the "snares,trapping and pest control" section.Also lots of experienced moletrappers on the ferret site.

Don't bother with gimicky "sonic" sounders ...waste of time in my experience.I gave a friend loads of ferret poop to put down mole holes as someone suggested.....also a waste of time.!

thanks dawn. how do i go about setting them, like i said i have seen the traps that look like a tunnel with blades in the ones the craw in to and get stuck. but this was when i was a little girl and i was more interested in its teeth and claws than watching the traps get laid how do i locate the tunnels i also remember my granddad poking about with a stick ? i relay dont know where to start !

You have to dig where the mole hill is, a few inches below the surface you will feel the mole run, this run is where you put the set trap, as the mole goes past it along his run, it will snap. Sometimes we dig a little further along, but the runs are easily found. There is some info on here as Mooster was saying, have a scan down the threads to see if you can get any more tips. Its trial and error we found, not an exact science! :mellow:
