Rhys Williams 3
Had a call off a farmer today saying that a freshly baled field was covered in crows. So straight after work I was there and he wasn't lying, three fields were covered. So I set up quickly, the crows only moved to the next field so started coming into the pattern well. I shot one and they all seemed to disappear, a couple came back but weren't so keen to come in. I lifted the one I shot but they still didn't come back. I will try and upload pictures of my set up so people can comment. Only thing I can think of is that they were suspicious because a field that was covered in crow's now only had 5 left. Ratsmasher 36
Im no expert on crows but i know theyre pretty clever and if they see you set up they will clear off most people set up before it gets light and shoot til about 9am but as i said im no expert Quote Link to post

GEOFF.223 83
More decoys 20+ shells Flapper And several full bodied on hangers for more movement Tried decoys on fresh cut and dug up fields with 5 to 10 decoys out just wasn't working a older jent told me get at least 30 out. Just because they are used to seeing big numbers worked a charm There smarter than most people can acknowledge Quote Link to post
Rhys Williams 3
Had another go tonight same problems. So going to get more decoys and a flapper get some more movement in my pattern. Will the full bodied crows need wings on hangers? Also Im using the ghost camo and I'm thinking the backdrop isn't quite dark enough so they can see my shape behind it. No luck on uploading pics Quote Link to post

03milesR 6
As previously said, crow as so smart that it they see you set up, they won't come near. I had a brief go on the crows yesterday, but I only started with a few and then added to pattern with the ones I shot. If there's bails in the field then push a few together and just put your net across the front. As for the ghost camo, I've got them, I love them, but I do think there too think also, but the key is keeping still. The eye sight of crows are I e of the best, and to fool them into decoying is an art. But once their fooled, you will find you will have a cracking day. P.s with your decoys, if you can't be bothered to buy some and your got loads of pigeon decoys, then just spray or put a black sock over them ATB Quote Link to post
