A Mixed Bag

had a little walk today with ern, me old mate who ive known for some time has add a stroke and I get him 1 or to bits, for his tea, I think cooking them and preparing the, passers the time of day for him, I got a mixed bag, 4 rainbow and a brown,, very enjoyable couple of hours, and hit gets the dog out has well,the only problem he stinks the house with pond water,,so he gets to baths in a day,,,lol

cheer for the coments,, he s a bull grey,, sulki grey colie grey x collie grey,, andy hes a old boy an old egg collector in his day, some of the storys, well he knows every adventure, to each egg , makes our sport sound dull,,, planning from 1 year to the next,, and only having a week to find the nest, takes some doing when you come down to the rare ones,, 48 years of the passed he can talk about,,, good old days for him no dowt. when hit was leagle,,,.

I've still got an egg collection myself Jim,it's all legal I even got the local police out to check everything and date it just when it became illegal..I was gonna gift them to Keswick museum as they had a decent collection but decided against it lol..I have been offered canny money for them but like you said each and every egg tells a story and a part of my life and I can even recall my mother taking mme nesting when I was a wee un..I loved the game :-)

I found a chap for his collection, about 8 years ago andy south of france for a eagle owl,, fack hit make going up the dales seem round the corner,,, the rare then are the common ones now,,, you try and find a tree sparrow..lol

Your spot on Jim..what was once rare are commoner nowadays but many of the once popular such as Blackcaps,Linnets,Redpolls,Reed Buntings Etc ain't nowhere near as abundant as they once were infact I can't even recall the last time I sen a Blackcap?..and a Tree Sparrow lol..we even have an Osprey up here but not a fecking chance you'd find a Tree Spuggy haha
