Millet 4,497
They is only two chick's left so i don't have a seceret.. ..they are rung though thank fook and they will be jumping ship in a week..my success maybe because they are in a big aviary and left alone for long period's as i have feed hatches..a good feed regime and good parent's above all maybe..
fireman 10,934
Give them what they need and good birds will do the rest, but it is the little details that make the difference . Shame about the ones that got lost but 2 in the hand and all that ,my 2 are doing ok out the nest so far, well i say 2 but i'll only ever see one and i haven't found any dead yet so i take it there's 2 still but it got busy in the same flight today with 2 nests fledging at the same time (redpolls and mules) and i'm not even going to try to search in nooks and cranny's for the elusive buggers .
Millet 4,497
I give up looking for dead ones now..as them Jap quial flatten any thing down quick enough.. ..i was in there for too long the other day to try and find a dead rung chick to retreive the ring but i had no chance. as it's wild as tit's im there now..
