zini 1,939
Thanks everyone. Been out tonight with Phil (Mawders) and the HW80 got its first 3 bunnies since its restore. One was a standing unsupported 38 meter perfect brain shot too . No where near as good as Phils 51 meter standing unsupported perfect brain shot though on a bunny . One of the best shots Ive seen with a springer this year. Pure class it was. 2 Quote Link to post

Lewis Ste 245
The 80s looking well now si! Still can't make my mind up if the barrel is a carbine or full length it doesn't look as long as wurz full length one when I shot it. Top shooting Lewis Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Another cracking video mate, finally got to watch it after our evening hunt. Thanks for the kind comment on my shot, I was well chuffed with that shot! Your hw80 really is a serious piece of kit, it was like watching the terminator when you walked that one veg patch and shot all 3 bunnies one after the other! Certainly hits with a crack that ! zini 1,939
Cheers Phil. Just a shame about the range finger playing up at first and the zero being very low. Maybe we could of had another 3 or 4 more. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
I'm not in the least surprised to see how well this rifle has turned out. Brilliant rifle+ Correct pellet + Brilliant shooter = This is what you get!! The finest spring break barrel air rifle you can own this one . No question, bar none; the HW80 is deserving of its status as an air rifle legend. How well they can be returned from the ravages of careless owners and restored to perfection again is all here with this example. Mine is I think, a rare model with a 21-inch barrel. Andy tells me the usual standard length is 19.25 inch. It is an astonishingly accurate, ready-to-hand, ready-to-go air rifle; be it on-ticket or sub 12 ft/lbs. Fantastic work on the restoration of your HW80K Si. Your shooting deserves a fine hunting air rifle you can rely on too mate. Everyone and anyone serious about his/her shooting should have one in the collection. Best wishes for all your shooting with it Si. Looking forward to a shot or few with sometime soon Simon 1 Quote Link to post

Looking forward to a shot or few with sometime soon Simon theyve always advertised their guns as 'distance airguns', and coincidently they have long barrels..shhhh secret that is i've only seen a couple chronos on springers, all different makes but they same to have a foot print pattern with the velosities, i.e. 2 fps varience for a few shots then a 'flyer' followed by a swing in the numbers then back to 1fps varience for 5 or 6...followed by a 'fler' and a swing.. might just be me like. i did fill my old , or the second old ..lol was one of them, filled it without taking it apart with grease just to see like, ran smoooooth as pie, no chrono readings and an ox spring in it.(ox=waisted money)... no i mean filled it, compressed and filled then wiped of the exsess until it stopped cming out, god knows what it did to the consistancy, the power certainly dropped like and i'd hate to try to get a desired FPS using that method lol, but like i said smoooth action. are those 'silocan springs' still for sale, round metal with like a gel coat on them, they were superb! some 20 ffff thhhh 30 years ago lol. (imported from some where like norway or summut). Quote Link to post
jrobsm1 5
ye another great vid top shooting and the 80s s@~t hot mate used to own one myself but got rid and got the 77k instead which is another accurate rifle Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
Thats one beautiful rifle mate. Great restoration, video and blisteringly good shooting, i aint able to shoot this good with my ones, I'm just not good enough yet. A great point made about the service kits too, i was guilty of calling them tuning kits too until Tony's other half gave me a friendly ticking off and set me straight I'm so looking forward to the vid on Tony tuning up a springer, this will be brilliant I'm sure. Cheers and all the best Chris. Quote Link to post
