snoopdog 1,256 Posted June 29, 2013 Author Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 cheers cocker i am just trying to get some history on mine now..its all solid silver couplings on it and iam nearly sure it was presented at the waterloo cup its got engraved on it that it was presented to joseph furness houghall 1869 i think houghall is a place not sure yet iam waiting for a email .the silver has patent mark on it and a hallmark..it a real nice looking double slip.best i have ever seen up to date..i not sure if it was presented in 1869 or a bit later ..i think it was presented to a slipper in the waterloo cup..i will know later.,.i do know that master magrath won the cup in that year and in 1868 and 1871...its doing my fooking head in waiting for this email Quote Link to post
cocker 2,655 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 (edited) sounds a good one for sure, ive collected a fare bit of old coursing memorabilia ive got traditional greyhound slip leads, and a double whippet slip which was, owned by bob blatch, and used with the whippet coursing clubs, and a load of programmes from the waterloo cup, old yorkshire coursing club, ryedale coursing club, and east of england, and also the whippet coursing clubs, and a quite few old coursing club badges, and clippings from old newspaper hare coursing results Edited June 29, 2013 by cocker Quote Link to post
