That's as may be. But, it just doesn't look healthy.   Repeat; WTF is it???

The Hairy Hunters Scottish Cookbook !!!

Posted Images

Got this recipe from a Scottish friend on the Book of Face and it sounds like something im going to love.

How to make stovies - fry some link sausages. Peel some potatoes and onions. In a deep pan place a layer of sliced potatoes, then a layer of sliced onions, then a layer of the cut up cooked sausage. Keep going till everything is used. Generously salt and pepper, then add enough water to cover the bottom of the pot. Bring to a simmer and cover. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the tatties are mush, then mash with a masher.....totally delicious, but do taste better with square/Lorne sausage.

Add more pepper as you mash. Best eaten with French bread and butter.

That's the one mate its called a nan ... Or in welsh a maen ...hence the welsh for welshcake is

Pice ar y Maen ..........

Maen = stone. Those steel or iron things are also called baking stones in English, so I found out when I was looking for a picture earlier. Don't know where the nan bit comes from, probably a regional thing from your way the same way I'd call it a plank!
