Hi guys just wandering what do you guys do to get your kits drinking water?

There eating well happy on there own. But i dont know the best way to get them on water.

I tryed putting a shallow bowl in with a bit of water but they just ignored it. What am i best trying?

Just lift there nose to the nozzle of the water bottle and they usually start drinking , but if your feeding meat they wont or dont drink as much as if your feeding them dry

I put a saucer of kitten milk in with mine today and they lapped it up. They are 4 weeks old.

 

Then tonight I swapped the milk for water.

Just a update. Took some advice off a mate and split my jill up away from the kits for a few days and they ate and drank really well but as soon as i put her back in they suckled again but still eat and drink aswell. When will she or normally stop lactating?

How old are they? The jill should naturally dry up as the kits eat more solids and less milk. If you thought they were ready to separate, theres not much use putting them back with her..

I separated as they would try to eat and she just dragged them away every time. Kits are 6 week old. They do eat well when i take her out. But minute she is back she goes back to draging them away so weather i leave her out till there ready to go but she goes nuts and stresses out alot when i do. Advice please.

Hi Chris I give mine life aid mixed in with the water due to the heat we use it on belle vue with the greyhounds it stops them dehydrating and they love it atb how did you get on with the moss lodges matey

Not been able follow up any leads to it yet been a bit busy. But my next free day am looking at trying mere lane fishery in tarlton its near bannister i think. Were can i get life aid from and how much do i ads to the water?

Not a bad place better than the other shithole you mentioned. I've heard they were on about stopping matches there because the fish were getting too big and they don't half scrap well. There's loads round there feck knows why people go to bannisters.
