Blackbriar 8,569
Yes, you read that right! Just been out with the big dog for a couple of hours - pi55 wet through, but hey ho! For those that don't know my new home, it's very green - unbelievable amounts of woodland, park and lakes everywhere you turn. Any way, after 30 or 40 minutes, we come around a small stand of tall bushes, and we're 20 feet from a young roe buck! Dog and deer stare each other out for a few seconds, before the deer bounds off in to the distance (Mastiff X in hot pursuit!). I called her back and watched the deer make it's way through some trees. We followed the path around and through to the other side of the trees, doubling back to where we came from. 30 yards or so from where we first saw it is the same deer (probably), but it hasn't seen us this time. I wanted to see how close we could get, so keeping low (and with dog now on her lead!) we follow around a patch of tall grass, and get within 10 yards before we're seen and deer takes off. Well chuffed with our bit of fun, we head home. Very near our house is a small copse of chestnut trees - and bu99er me if she didn't take off after another one! Never got a rifle when you need one, but what a great time we had !!

Blackbriar 8,569
I don't want to say exactly where (for obvious reasons) but I will try to get close enough to get some pix. I've also seen the odd Muntie, but this is my first proper look at a Roe.

LaraCroft 863
Used to see a lot of them around there when I lived/worked there a few years ago - lovely place to walk. Real mix of city problems and deserted open fields/woodland. Got to love being able to drive past water-skiers, a snow dome, concrete cows, and then see deer in open fields ! Lovely countryside full of proper English woodland - you lucky !
