Feeding/diet/lamping

does any one feed there dogs anything before a night lamping if so what? rice/pasta/meat/fish?

I always feed a few hours before lamping. Feed at 5pm and leave for lamping at 10pm is the norm.

 

I feed at night (10pm ish) so if I'm going lamping they haven't eaten for 24 hours.

 

I always think I wouldn't fancy going for a big training session having not eaten for 24 hours so I give them a half sized meal with plenty of time to digest it.

 

Sometimes biscuits, sometimes meat with pasta or brown bread. Then a normal size meal when we get home.

 

Will be interesting to see what others do.

Out of interest how long have they not eaten for when you lamp them? That morning or the night before?

A bit like Gaz but I make sure it's at least 6 hours from feeding to lamping, I like to feed around 2ish if possible.and lamp for about 11.00

always feed my dogs a few hours before i go lamping the dog i run at the moement likes to be fed 6 hours before i go out. always feed them a good meal as soon as i get back in aswell.

ive seen one or two dogs collapse on nights out and start fitting and they have all been run on right empty stomachs.

Dogs digestive system takes 8hours so fully digest so if I'm going lamping I get the misses to feed them around 2ish so their good to go around 10pm

mars bars are for me lol but sometimes will give the dog one tried feeding the dog a light meal a good few hours before never ran the same so seems to work for me
