I was advised sterilized bones ?

I'm not sure what a sterilized bone is but can't see what difference it would make at teeth cleaning? Only increasing the price and reducing its appeal to the dogs.

Marrow bones and those huge knuckle bones are sterilised by heat: they are also very bad for dogs that gnaw a lot on them, can wear down and even break teeth. Feed only fresh bones and don't feed large bones to dogs that are likely to chew away for hours. I see no point in giving a dog a bone it can't break down and digest: they are only for boredom, and like I said, can damage a dog's teeth if it is obsessive about it.

My bitch would gnaw on one of them until her teeth were worn down and nerves were showing I'm sure.

Give mine antlers mate, if its a red or fallow antler I cut it into bits and if its a roe antler I leave as is, a red antler will last you a ages if you've only one dog and you don't need to worry about them stinking.

Lots of stuff available but cheapest is pop to your butcher and ask for any bones like lamb or pork necks, ribs pelvis or trotters. Once or twice a week does just fine don’t over do it.

These are 13 years old.
