Well Dressed Pest And A Transformation .....

Recommended Posts

Well; The cattle are out and so both the Pest and Danger Dog have to be walked on leads. These are both big, powerful and happy dogs. So, you can imagine the exuberance with which they launch into their trip up the track!

Yes. It's like a scene out of f**king Ben Hur!!! Two mad dogs, plunging off down the track. Me, lead on each wrist. Leaning back thirty five degrees and digging my heels in for all I'm worth!

I've walked Pest on her big, wide, Strong Stuff collar. (Plunge and Drag!) I put her on a rope noose. (Plunge, Pant and Drag!). I put a 'normal' collar on her. (Plunge and Drag!) FFS!

Well, the other week, in town, I spotted a nice little harness. Nothing OTT about it. Just a smart, black, nylon harness. I thought;

" If Pest is going to drag me along that track every day, I'd might as well just get used to it. But, I don't like that I'm making her gasp by having a ring round her throat ..... "

Yesterday ~ f**k the bank balance ~ I bought her that harness. Here she is, showing off her new clothes. She's a very pleased Pest .....

And here, incredibly, is a shot that I took with my left hand as I walked up the track with her, kitted out in her nice, new, " Really get your back into it now " harness!

:icon_eek: See that? She's wandering along so calm and sedately that I virtually had to usher her forward to get her in frame! And Paulus could Never hope to take such an unshaky photo!

I think that must be the ultimate Instant Karma. I bought her that so that she could drag me to my death, without choking herself in the effort.

And what happens? It transforms her into a lamb! :toast:

Walshie; Happiest little dog in the world, mate! She gets in bed at night and drops into a coma. Come morning, when she feels it's time we should all get up? She goes f**kin ballistic!!!

You try keeping a straight face with a dog her size bouncing off and on the bed. Wriggling about on her back and generally bouncing off the walls with the sheer delight of facing another day! :D

Yet, like right now, she can just lay on the bed and pass out. You wouldn't know she was here. But, yeah, she's brought a whole new life into this home. I laugh A Lot now! :D

Johnny; Yes, mate. American Bulldog. A breed I've had a huge interest in since long before they got found out about by Joe Public.

Frankly? If asked, I tend to tell people she's an " American Homestead Dog " in the first instance. Then I briefly explain how they were developed to be around " The Little House on the Prairie " and generally make themselves useful while being fantastic natured around the family.

See? That short circuits the common tendency to hear " Bulldog " and immediately compute " Bulldog. Bull. PIT Bull. Horror! Dead Children! " and all that media driven bullshit prejudice.

But, yeah. They're an absolute dream of a breed. They have no bad in them. Of course, certain sectors will try to see to that, simply because of their innate size and strength.

But, this one's a f**king beauty. She was raised to perfection. And now she lives just where her kind were bred to live. On my own, isolated, homestead

It just gets better ....! :D She has very long, flappy ears. Of course, they're thus prone to getting and holding grime. That can lead to all sorts of annoyances.

I have a load of 'medications' here, for dealing with inside ear problems. And, today, I looked inside her ears and decided the right one was due a good clean out.

So, I told her I'd wait till they'd all been fed and had settled down. Then I'd clean that ear out.

Got them fed. Got them in. Was letting them settle down when I noticed Niggy (my gentle, 'Black Lab' sort of thing) sitting with her, licking her back.

Crafty little f**ker was Oh So gentle and gradual ..... I left them to it. And, before ye know it?

:boogy: Bet, when I check tomorrow, that ear will be as clean and pink as a fresh rasher of Danish! Because he must have had his tongue in there for an Hour!

I just Love the way a 'Pack', left to it, sort their orders and jobs out! :toast:

Wall Papering ....?! :icon_eek: F**k me, mate; I wouldn't even consider re rendering those patches where Danger Dog chewed the sand and 'cement' off. Why on earth would I? We're all perfectly happy here.

I've just bought and fitted an entire new run of guttering for this place. Does for us.

Wall paper? Ye'll be suggesting f**king carpets next! Would you wall paper a dog kennel
