I contacted him to but a rifle. I turned up at his squat (not believing this could be hospitable by anyone let alone a child) and he handed me the rifle to try. Wasn't particularly impressed with the condition, not as described but I had to get away so I ran two magazines worth into trees. No target so couldn't really tell what was happening downstream. I took a punt foolishly and went home. Later that day I contacted him to say magazines were jamming pellets, indexing was fooked and when I took the stock off there was a nightmare butchery of the anti-tamper system. This could not be viewed on the day under those conditions.The associated lamping bits were incomplete and basically just tat He suggested I youtube XTX to get some pointers. We argued a toss but as is usual for this guy it's always someone else at fault. I requested he cover the cost of a single shot loader so I could sling the magazines. Nothing more was said. Later I find (on here) that he willingly let me shoot a firearm on land he wasn't actually allowed to cover (custodian?, yeah right. This bothered me a lot, he endangered my very past-time without giving a monkeys or an explanation. It seems the care of others (and that of his own flesh & blood) is an afterthought and subjecting them to "his" way of life tells us a great deal about this man. This is nothing I wouldn't say to his face and hopefully I might one day get the chance. In closing something about his fight with the system & authority tells me that there is something in his history that just doesn't sit right, something that only going off grid can hide. 1 Link to post

I don't think that he's binned you for 'siding with his enemys', rather that youre a living reminder of his arrogance and bull headed stupidity catching up with him and kicking him in the arse. With you out of the picture, he can pretend none of it happened and continue the quest to become the next online guru of shooting and alternative lifestyles. But when this fellow turned up at the last THL meet Davy aka the Midget went out of His way to make miles feel welcome evening letting Him shoot His prized TX, And He seemed to enjoy His self, I spoke briefly to Him and he came across as a educated Lad abit like an Officer, But this is a big but....... I try not get involved in other peoples sh1t, especially when im 'piggy in the middle' but sometimes things get messy and don't end well. as for YOU Phil mate, he chose to block you out and end your friendship by closing the book on that chapter.. hes made his mind up, if he wants to change it that's his choice, until then just let him go that's all you can do. you never did anything wrong in all of this Link to post

Phil Mawders, I understand your stand point on Miles, having been in a similar situation myself. Morals like yours will stand you well in life No offence taken, and non intended.
