MAIN MAN 277 Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Share Posted July 1, 2013 That's nice to here gnipper! can you catch me a couple?, also I read the page about the rabbit numbers making a difference but there is more rabbits here than ever so that cant be the reason. they are quite shy so mabe the population of people and traffic has made a difference. Once upon a time. However, looking back? I've actually known enough places with plenty of rabbits and yet no stoats to talk of. Then, I've lived in places devoid of rabbits. Yet a stoat was nothing to write home about. Round here, right now? Rabbits: 0. Otters: 1. Stoats: 2. Mink: 3. Pine Marten: 10. Badgers: Used to be everywhere. I was told yesterday buy another farmer that when the gassed the rabbits on the railway line 20 + years ago he recons the killed most of the stoats at the same time! that does sound right as that's where we saw most of them years ago..
