lor123 12
i dont cope mine i have a flat perch 6inches by 10inches about a foot from the wall on a 3ft poll and she takes her food up on it, when i see her beak needs a trim i give rabbit heads and i made a piece of concrete the same size inch thick and i just strap it on and she rubs her beak on it when she feeds and it files it down natural. i have a round corner perch she sits on every nite and i do the same thing a 2 and 1/2 inch pipe few lengths of wire through and pour concrete when set cut off pipe and stick on a lenght of coconut mat 3/4 inch wide and the lenght of the perch and that files the talons down and keeps the foot off the cold concrete. i only use them 2 weeks at a time and never had to trim beaks or talons. when im taking her out hunting i put hood on and off we go so she has associated getting the hood on with good times ahead. dont get me wrong sometimes the b*itch is having none of it and it might take few minutes but most of the time not a problem with hood. 1 Quote Link to post

pointer 543
I would think even the thickest of braid would tangle as the lure bounced up, and you would struggle to undo it. Would a Scarborough reel design not be better? Quote Link to post
lor123 12
was out playing with a multiplier and cordless drill last night, it works brilliantly, i was previously using an old electric scooter upside down with back tyre cut off but line kept getting tangled everytime the lure got snagged and kicked back so was out lastnight like a little kid with a new toy with the drill and multiplier and once i got the drag right on the reel i got no kick backs i think its because its a few feet off the ground theirs less kick backs and tangles. 1 Quote Link to post

Would a Scarborough reel design not be better? yes but most normal lure machine use thin line and the drill is handheld so comes a few feet off the floor so theres not much line touching the floor compared to a normal machine so less resistance Quote Link to post
