WILF 47,044 Posted June 24, 2013 Report Share Posted June 24, 2013 Took the boy for a few hours with his whip, he is 5 and has got to grips with putting his own maggots on, unhooking, using the disgorger etc.......if fact I dont need to do anything for him except tie up his line. He got a decent little mixed bag of perch, roach, rudd etc..........hooked 2 pike around the 4/5lb mark but despite our best efforts they came off after about 5 minutes 3/4 hours is enough for him and keeps him wanting to go back 8 Quote Link to post

There's nothing better IMO, the only downside is you never have a quiet trip again...lol I've started Fin on a rod now, he's coming on well, can cast a waggler ok, bait up, etc It's funny how much they learn and absorb at this age isn't it..
