Hw100 Vs Bsa Scorpion Se

Recommended Posts

humm .. blueprinted SE or regular out of the box??

out of the box, i have an r10 and they are almost the same rifle inside and that is a top rival with the hw100

Are you on about the scorp and r10 being the same? The scorpion doesn't have a regulator so will use a different system inside?

The HW100 is allegedly unregulated but it does have a method of reducing air pressure, so is sort of regulated, the Scorpion SE is not regulated. The HW100 cannot be double loaded, has a much better reloading system and also a superb sidelever (I prefer sidelevers and bolts to rear bolts). More shots per fill to the HW as well I believe.

I am no BSA hater as many people know, but out of the pair, buy the HW100!

My advice would be go to a shop and shoulder them, see what feels best to you. Accuracy wise tho my Scorpion SE is spot on and is way more accurate than me! and my mate has an R10 and it is just as accurate as the r10 on targets, only difference the r10 has a lot more shots and i personally prefer the match trigger that it comes with the R10.

Can not comment on the HW100 as i have never fired one but they do look good and have many fans. But ether one will be more than accurate enough and I'm sure you'll love which ever one you decide to go for

Had both and and sold both !

The shot count between them is negligible, the woodwork is average on both but the SE is lighter.

If it was a new buy then I'd personally go for the HW100 purely for the fact that as a out of the box rifle its hard to beat with a good trigger unit and a silencer thats fitted as standard thats second to none IMOP, it also has a good resale value and will be easy to shift at a later time.

But if your on the market for something second hand then a SE might be the one for you as the savings you make can be invested in having the rifle tuned and regulated by JB, with a HW or A&M silencer fitted as well will turn something average into a shooting dream.

Just my thoughts though, the final decision is always in the holding of the rifle for me any way.................
