Don't know if any of you lads do this , colour code you nets ie 3ft are yellow 3ft 6 orange 4ft blue ect that way your not routing through your net bag looking for a suitable net

12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,20,20,20,20,19,18,17,16,15,14,13,12 on a 2. 1/4 board gives me a nice wide, shaped 4ft net, get around ten out of a spool.

I have been making mine 4ft shaped, for personal use...

i prefer shaped james think they go down easier and you get more out your twine jmo

STARTING TO THINK THAT TOO PAL....AS SAID I HAVE USED ALL SORTS,BUT I HAVE KNITTED MYSELF A LOAD OF SHAPED NETS FOR THIS SEASON....

I like to use/make a 4 ft shaped net not to bothered about how much twine they take to make as i just make nets for my own use and they suit the ferreting i do .But saying that smaller size /shape nets will catch rabbits i just think you can cover more with a bigger net than a small.

I make mine shaped starting at 10 12 14 16 18 x 12 rows then back down 16 14 12 10 gives me a 4ft net I put a light ring on top and a heavier one on the bottom using 3mm draw cord and 2 1/4 inch meshes they work well for where I hunt but I also have a mix of 3ft and 3ft 6 for hedge bottoms were you need the rabbits pursed up quickly.

Agree mate. Shaped for me. 7-14,14,14,14-7...2 1/4" board gives a 42" net. Wouldn't go any smaller personally. 18 nets per ball. Holds the biggest rabbits no probs

I only started making my own nets season before last so Im no expert. Started out making straight nets 3ft 6 long 15 meshes wide and they catch very well but I dont realy like that ammount of twine on the ring. my last 20 or so nets are 10 12 14 16 18 20 for 14 rows 18 16 14 12 10 4ft nets. A shaped net catches as well as a straight net as far as I can see.
