secretagentmole 1,701
CO2 may be expensive to buy, but get a load in and it works out cheap, places like J S Ramsbottom will send you 50bulbs of CO2 in the post for about £25! I would say buy an SMK XS78, great little CO2 gun, with a seal change (£12 from a certain supplier in Wales - Woodfield Gun Care), you can turn it into a 10-11 ft lb hunting rifle. Comes with open sights so no need to buy a scope from the off, will last him into adulthood (many adults spend incredible sums of money on these little Chinese CO2 gas guns on parts etc). 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Hi tomas87. For a little lad of 7 years old, he needs a starter rifle that suits his build and reach; that gets him started and helps to build his shooting groundwork. That is more important to his growth right now, than a full powered hunter. That's really for later. Look at a Weihrauch HW25. This is a small, lightweight spring rifle for children that will help him far more beneficially than anything suggested here. The spring guns listed are too much just now. He should not be allowed too hunt but accompany you and observe in the field and then, go learn with you on a safe target range with the little Wiehrauch. A bargain-basement adult spring rifle will be more than he can handle for very long. Best wishes. Pianoman. Edit to add. I can thoroughly recommend Redbeck Shooting Supplies. My local gunshop. Great lads there and a very helpful service they give. Edited June 25, 2013 by pianoman 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Yes it would! We are talking about a rifle for a little lad of 7 years of age as the primary user. Stoeger air rifles are an adult's rifle. Quote Link to post
