jpt 285
My terrier has had a problem now for a couple of weeks which I am starting to be concerened by. When he has been lay down for any period of time and gets up he limps up onto all fours. I have checked his front legs over loads of times and there seems to be nothing there that I can feel that is unusual. I have aplied preasure on the leg that he is limping on and he doesnot react at all. Anyway I took him to the vet who charged me £34 and told me they didnt know what was wrong. No suprisethere! They said to rest him up as he might have hurt his muscles or somthing. They said if it is not better in a week to take him back for x rays. I am wondering if it would be worth taking him to one of them blokes who deal with greyhounds. If so are tehre any good ones in the north west of england? higgins 75
yes i remember a guy in Pennington Flash in the north west, but,he is a greyhound man,and recently i heard he had done some unintentional damage to a lurcher recently,my advice would be to try a different vet and tell him the history of your recent experience with another vet,he may well see this as a challenge to himself and try to prove he can better the other vets knowledge/experience,the guy in Pennington was a greyhound man,and i witnessed a qiuck miraculous instant cure on a lurcher with a troubled joint, which sprang into action after the 'cure',but my advice is still to seek qualified vetinary attention although rip offs they are, they are the best people to deal with it,finding the best vet is more of a problem than the dogs leg trouble, unless you get reccomendations from satisfied customers, Higgins. redmoor 0
This can often be cramping in the muscles that causes what i think you are describing, my old boy gets this, we find the best thing that works is a Diazepam 2mg tablet in the evening before he settles down..i dont think from watching him that its a painful thing...it just looks odd. The Vets couldnt tell me what was wrong with my dog either, i took him to a Reiki (ok..go on..laugh!) person and he told me what it was, it was explained to me like the dog has foot cramp in one or more limbs.
