ferretracer 24
its to do with the company who make the jab chemical, they changed there minds on it a couple years ago nearly, saying it has a very short life once opened some vets will stick to old rules and just stick it the fridge and may get you sign a waiver so you agree to it, some just use it as they allsways did and continue to do so and others go by the manufacturers guidelines of binning once opened so charging you for a whole bottle some cases upto 120 quid, if you can get a few jills together and do it mass, cuts the cost. the implant varys som much from ferret to ferret(can be used on hobs instead of neutering/vasectomy). if your never going to breed the ferrets go for the fit and forget method of spay or neuter or if you want to breed at some point, vasectomised hob(theres more around now since all the chages on the jil jab) some people advertise on preloved/gumtree etc or speak to a local club or group of ferreters they may have a vacestomised they pimp out, or jill jab/implant Quote Link to post
The one 8,458
Better getting a hob done £75 /£100 for numerous jills for eight to ten years thats easy maths in my book Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
I got the same story from the vet about having to throw the rest away within 24hours. But thankfully my vet tries to get the local ferret owners in on the same day to reduce the cost each. Quote Link to post
foxtails 272
some vets cost £8 some £12 some £20 some £27 and other £35 ect ect ect its just a case of finding the cheapest, ringing around i supose, but the vets make loads of money through all sorts of animals being taking in daily for treatment costing a small fortune,,, a £7 jab i wouldnt mind if they charged me double price, but the cost theyr expecting is daylight robbery!
