ferret_uk 4
Hi lads am after some help and advice, I have been looking at the silencer adapters for my 97kt. I am stuck on the choice of silencer to add to it. I was told the fx whisper was a good piece of kit just after some advice of recommendation of a good silencer. I know this will increase the length of the gun but that's something I could cope with and also can't think of any other way 2 get the sound of the gun down. Thanks Ferret_uk Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Most of the sound from a springer is from the action, try regreasing it but giving it a light polish before so when the parts inside move its easier with less fiction. The 97 already has a built in moderator to help with the crack of the pellet leaving the barrel but the silencer aswel would probably do no harm 1 Quote Link to post

thursodog 353
Tony Wall also does an insert for about 60 quid to fit into the mod. Havn't seen one but heard they are very good, going to buy one myself when i've the money to spend. Quote Link to post
ferret_uk 4
I have looked at a few ways to help with the silencer, as you will know once taking the end cap off the silencer it's empty I have heard packing this would help have any of you got any expierence of this? A tune could be a good option Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
If you have taken the end cap of then a baffle may help .for a baffle you could use a washer .the hole in the center would have to be just big enough for the pellet to pass through .the washer would have to be an exact fit for the tube.to hold the washer in place use two springs that fit closely to the tube and wrap a bit of material round the springs . J-D 7
Whilst I was at Tony's collecting my 97 , I bought the genuine Weihrauch silencer from him . I tried it on the range for the first time today. Not over impressed, on the tuned gun I didn't notice any sound difference ( it may have been quieter downrange ) it certainly was more awkward with the extra barrel length and at 35yds the POI dropped 1mil. I probably won't bother again. The gun is getting better and better though . Quote Link to post
whistler1 26
Got this one delivered yesterday 6 down http://www.konceptus.pl/silencers-moderators/ My gun is in pieces just now,as i am going to fit a v-mach kit...once i get the Mrs out the road lol. It is a perfect fit matches up perfectly with the muzzle weight.Steel, with good bluing.5 inches long. But you will have to wait till i tell you if it makes any difference.I have heard people say,the only difference is down range. Brian Quote Link to post
ferret_uk 4
I would be interested to hear you views on it mate, stuck for choices on what to do. To start of am going to order so lube and give it a clean even though its as good as new see what difference I get. Quote Link to post
whistler1 26
I picked my 97kt up a week ago Friday.I must admit i was a little disapointed on the twang coming from it. Owned 0ne about 5yrs ago....was way better than this one out the box.I suppose if i put a tin down it,maybe it would have settled down a little, but as it is i am putting a v-mach in it.Also got a Welsh Willy tuning kit on order,as well as the TTI piston and compression tube. That wont be with Woodfield till mid July. With regards to the silencer. When i seen the cost of the adapter Bestfittings are selling.Put another £13 + postage of course and i got this silencer. Will let you know what i think tomorow or Tuesday. Cheers Brian Quote Link to post
