Right lads I'm on an insane training plan 6 days a week and its super insane lol im in good shape now but want to improve :) this plan kills you doing it for 60 days then after That I'm going to focus on bulking up but this is to slim down and get leaner and tone up slightly it works but what I'd like to ask Is what FOODS best to eat when in training like this what it is is long periods of hard intense workout and short 10 second water breaks its great it kills you but worth it and it works , any help on what foods to eat that will be suitable  much appreciated atb jd

If your wanting to cut then i would recommend a 500 calorie deficit daily any thing less and you will feel like shit, 1 gram protein/per lb of bodyweight, slow digesting carbs (sweet potatoes, yams, and so on, and healthy fats such as avocado, nuts and omega 3's. I would also recommend rice cakes, great with peanut butter and low fat cheese spreads for snacks in between meals.

your better trying to work out your BMR/TDEE and macro's first.

Why trim down bulk up mate, seems like the hard way. Why don't you bulk up, get a shape to you then cut it back.

Take advantage of your environment...you'll have hills, trees, valleys. fences, logs, stones, old tractor tyres, sledgehammers, oil drums, ropes, bags of feed and a hundred other things and if you use a bit of imagination and you can self-motivate (not something everyone can do)...who needs a gym...

If I were you I would do it the other way round, loads of good food ,heavy weights, less reps/sets and bulk up,then when you have achieved the growth you want, start cutting the calories, more aerobic exercise, less weight, more reps and before you know it .......RIPPED  seems counter productive to lose weight,to then try and build muscle and keep your weight down

Sounds like your doing Insanity..

High protein, & Veg and for carbs try and substitute with butternut squash or sweet potatoes

try and eat every 3 hours

stay off the white carbs ie potato, white rice, white bread in fact just stay off bread all together

stay off sugar or any fizzy drinks, just drink plenty of water

one day a week it is a good idea to have a cheat day where you can eat what you fancy

As long as your eating the right types of foods you will see good gains and a change in physique

Good luck, ive done the full insanity course and it was a killer

That's the one mate its brilliant :)

Right cheers mate very helpful ill stay on tack once I commit to submit it gets done haha it's brutal lol How did you do mate did you get good results ??

Thanks again atb JD :)

For stayin lean and trim up give intermit fastin a go the hole eat every 3 hrs is scientificly proven to be pish. This mean you only eat for 8 hrs a day and 16 hrs fasted. All pro and any serious athlete looking to cut will do so. The myth of anabolic window was made by protein shake companys . Need to find your maintance calorie load (this your cals were you dont gain wate and you dont drop it. everyone is different then reduce maintanancw by 500cals this is a gud cut calorie load for your body. Want to drop fat not muscle n fat so only drop by 500 n get steady wate loss

still take in fats but fats from like fish-nuts and so on. These fats actally help you burn your fat stores and aid joints .Cut down the carbs these easly turn to fat if not used and will make you store more water wate , increase protein, drink way more water as then if takin in to much protein the body will flush it via your piss rather then turn to fat. Also the body will reduce water level as its getting a constant supply. As said diet shud be protein- chicken/fish/turkey/egg whites

carbs shud be stuff like- vegetables sweet potato and so on, maybe small bits of brown rice

Fats shud be from- nuts/fish

Your macros of cals to cut should be around

50% protein 30% carbs 20% helfy fats

With about 8 litres of water a day

Need anymore help drop me pm dont no it all but no me fare share

Over the years ive seen lads delve deep into training regimes, dieting etc..........yet the most common thing to break is not the body its the mind !.......To get the best out of what your body is capable of requires far more mental strength than physical......i never get too involved in dishing out complicated training advice to beginners simply because it usually gets wasted......all id say to any beginner is get used to working your body reasonably hard on a regular basis and eating cleanly........The hard truth is 8 out of 10 people who start training will not train consistently for more than a 1 year period........hence my view is in the early stages " less is more "......then if your personality and desire means you stick at it,thats the time to look into the science side of fitness.

Only my opinion like, best of luck to you.

100% agree on that one Gnasher...it's as easy or complicated as you want to make it...

Move more/eat less...or more and eat clean...but keep it realistic and simple and enjoy it...and also don't forget you ain't changing the habits of a lifetime overnight...
