gnipper 6,467
Used to do loads of lamping rats mainly round stables and ditches, ditches are the easiest places as you can follow the rat underwater with the lamp. Just after dark I always found was the best time as the rats are hungry and less wary. 1 Quote Link to post
nobjerk 161
me and a pal used to do some grain barns after dark and found the best way was to put out a few places to hide local to the food and they would run for cover rather than home , the best was a few corrugated roof sheets along walls ,then you can just pick them off by lifting when your ready with the dogs , either put them flat on floor or up against the wall along with a flat board sandwiched against the corrugate to create tunnels . great sport , even tried videoing it a few times but its hard to keep the camera steady in all the excitement and its embarrassing to listen to the squeals of grown men on film Quote Link to post
