New Rifle Over Powered !!!

Recommended Posts

Ive had my Air Arms s510 Hunter 177 for a month, bought new. My F1 chrony was delivered today so i thought i would have a play. Filled to 190 and started and to my shock it was averaging 805 to 810 fps with Air Arms Diablo 4.52 eek.gif and went up to 816. It wasnt until i had put 50 rounds from the same fill through it that it dropped below the 12ft lb limit. Needless to say im off the shop now, has anyone else had this happen, its a bit naughty really and i know its my responsibility to make sure its under surely AA must have some liability for sending out an over powered rifle. Have just returned it to the shop where i bought it and they are going to send it off to AA.

not impressed, Paul

As the barrel and action beds in you will get power creep until it settles, your only at 12.5 ft lbs with the 8.4 grains

(yes I know thats still illegal and there are no varying degrees of wrongness before all you internet lawyers jump on me)

but I would put that down to the action and parts wearing in, you have done the right thing by sending it back

now you can see why power setting is so important and you have to be doubly sure your not over the limit...

if you had been testing with 7.5 grain pellets you would be at 11.5 and would have thought everything was A OK!

I bet your not happy, someone didnt check it before it was sent out. As its the owners responsibility ( power ) I won't buy an air rifle with AT fitted if it means I have to send it away to be turned down.

Because its anti tamper and will void the warranty if the shop does it unless AA tell them otherwise. The point is that it shouldnt really leave AA like it in the first place.

So a phone call from an RFD to AA would`nt have sorted it ?

Seems like a right game to me .

Lets be honest , any RFD worth his salt can sort this out in next to no time .

A/T , feckin shite , ive only had one gun with it in , and that lasted about 15 minutes before i took it off .

I agree Buster I've only had one gun with AT and I also removed it straight away. Edited by MickC

Does someone want to let me know how to remove it and i'll turn it down myself.

Your first post says you've returned it to the shop and they are sending it back to AA . So you did'nt do this then ? Because i cant see any shop letting you take it back home if they know its over .
