brucemyster 75
I have used an Okuma bait caster with a salt bass rod for spinning off the rocks but in the end preferred to use my Daiwa Regal freshwater reel, with the bait caster I couldn't seem to get the accuracy and control needed for fishing in tight situations, probably needed more practice although I regularly use Abu 6500s for beachcasting. AirgunGuy 362
Use a 6501 C3 for salmon and pike occasionally. Much prefer fixed spool reels...can do everything a mutliplier can do and more and are much easier to use...especially when spinning ;-) Edited June 21, 2013 by AirgunGuy Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
i much prefer the baitcaster mutipliers for spinning? i can be alot more accurate and find i have alot more control, it does take pratice but you soon get the hang of it. im currenly using a john wilson six shooter combo and its my third one! i cant fault it one bit. the reason its my third is im a clumsy b*stard and have broken two rods lol trapped one in a door and jabbed the other in to floor while walking down the tow path i find the short 6ft rods make for very accurate casting but you can struggle with distance if using light lures.
