so ive just finished me aivery and went in tonite after work , looked in and couldnt see any birds !!!!!!! shit me self , checked all round the aivery thinking ive not done it properley and theve got out , moved to the side and found the likkel b stards sitting right up the top front timber behind the front board , what a relef, picture of me new shed for the stig :laugh::laugh:

Mick; Might it be fair to guess they're in front of that window and, having decided its getting time for bed, they've gone up there to get the light out of their eyes?

 

Must have been a ghastly thing though, to come in there and find them all 'Gone'! :icon_eek:

So are they in there 24/7? Do they need a nest box or anything? I wouldn't mind something similar myself just on the back of the house ;)

yes mate there in there 24/7 , they are all my chicks from this season so far so dont need a nest box as they wont be breeding , they will be in there till they molt out

Also Mick i was advised to use branche's of different thickness so the bird's can use ther feet propely and prevent any pressure sore's.. :thumbs:

ive used different thickness of branches bud , ive even put a swining branch in for em :thumbs:

Don't forget a bird bath for them Mick and a paint tray would do well for them and you in there,moulting birds need a daily bath to help the new feather mate :yes:.

Don't leave it in though if your using red water to colour the youngsters up ;)

so they would be fine in something like that over winter aswell? or would you put something in there to shelter them from the wind / elements a bit more? i havnt room for a full size shed/avarie but like to keep a few, thats all.
