ol26 2
I was given an fn12 by my old man the other week, he had it new about 8 years ago and has only probably put 50 pellets through it. Day to day I shoot a hw100 .177 and a sako .17 hmr for those longer range rabbits. I had a spare slot on my FAC for a .22 air rifle so decided to get the fn12 uprated. True, it's not got the biggest air capacity in the world, by a long stretch! But wanted a truck gun, so never that far away from my bottle. Few bits later, hw silencer, rowanengineering multishot adapter and a 3-12x50 ir scope with a laser mounted on it, and now running at 20ftlb.. I've got a nice little set up! Hoping to get about 18-20 full power shots - that's still a for few rabbits to carry in my eyes! Just wondered whether anyone else has any experience of an FAC fn12. I've for a bit of work to do on pellet choice.. I was using h&n ftt prior to it being upgraded. I've got some jsb exacts jumbo and some air arms hunters to try, though I'm not a great fan of pointed pellets. I'm not really fussed on the shape as long as I can consistently put them in the right place.. Not having it tuned too high, I'm thinking anything heavier than 16 grains might be a bit too heavy? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts or other pellet suggestions. Quote Link to post
donnyc 1,203
16s will be ideal at that power AA fields a decent pellet Id steer away from any pointed pellets Quote Link to post
ol26 2
Yeah, I remember years ago trying out some rws superpoints.. I didn't get on with these! I got talked into trying some air arms hunters last time I was in my local gun shop, despite my reservations... To be fair they do seem like a blunt point, which may be a bit better than a true point. But without wanting to open a can of worms about pellet shape.. Any shaped pellet in the right place is going to be fatal at sensible ranges.. Accuracy must be the number one consideration surely Quote Link to post

tomburras 2,730
My airgun in running at 26.5 fps and to be honest iv found normal air arms field at 16 grains spot on - very flat shooting and accurate. Quote Link to post
