BexJay 4
I am looking to start HFT but need to set myself up Looking for a PCP rifle but would appreciate some advice on thr following - what air rifle? Love the look of the daystate huntsman classic and the reviews look good - what scope? - best place in Nottingham to get my eye in? Definately need something light and I am a complete novice apart from a couple of sessions in an American gun range. All advice welcome and appreciated Thanks in advance Bex Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Well what is your budget? The Daystate is well built but blasted pricey! £750 or so for the gun, add on a scope, say £150, diving cylinder set up for charging the gun, £150, you are over £1000 before you got going! Or you could consider going the route of spring rifle for the budget of a pcp you could get a top end springer and even have it tuned etc and all you would need is the rifle and pellets and you are good to go mate you should try and get to the thl meet even if its for a few hours lots of helpful lads who would be more than willing to let you have a plink with different rifles Quote Link to post

AR177 588
If your new i suggest an s200 with a Hawke panorama with some sort of mag between 4-16 they are good for people just starting out and come with a match barrel so the accuracy is great, the scope isnt ridiculously priced and you can use the hawke software to calculate your balistics ATB Adam Edited June 20, 2013 by AR177 Quote Link to post

BexJay 4
Thanks guys this is all great info, I don't need to worry about buying a cylinder as I am as diver and have one ready to use. I have held an s200 and although it was OK to hold it didn't feel quite right. I think I will definitely go and try few out then look to buy second hand. Was looking at a leapers accu shot scope 4 to 16 for £150, so thought £350 would get me a great second hand starter rifle? Quote Link to post
