zini 1,939
Hi lads, While i was staining the stock on my new to me (but second hand) HW80 today and waiting for it to dry i decided to assist Davy by knocking up a contraption for the THLF July meet to use as one of the competitions. In the picture I'm using milk bottle tops to demonstrate the idea, but in the comp it will be Extra Strong mints. I think this will be fun set out at 40 meters in the first rounds, 50 meters in the semifinals and 60 meters in the final. 4 targets and 8 shots per person. If its a draw then it will be sudden death on a spinner that ill attach to the wooded frame. Shot from a HFT peg for the PCP boys (no bipods) and a bean bag for the springer boys. What do you think attendees? You all up for it? Si. Edited June 19, 2013 by zini 2 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
I think the meet is now going to be at the same location as the AA meet was now. Not far from Bolton. Rivington rifles club. Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
sounds a good idea and like fun. how you going to get the extra strong mints to go on those- what look to be- metal poles?? without splitting them?? I really need to start practicing prone shooting haha hardly ever done it. need to get a good consistent hold position sorted out also need to chrono and calibrate the hw97kt , after deciding which scope to put on it! ATB Aaron If you only get 8 shots i think it could easily be spring vs pcp ( anyone vs anyone ) If there is any element of speed then its rather unfair but on pure accuracy alone... that will be interesting ! zini 1,939
I don't think that there is a need to split PCP and springer Aaron. After watching some of the members shoot their springers last weekend at Old Downs they all have a great chance of doing just as well as some of the PCP dedicated shooters. The ranges are known so there is no guess work involved. I think we can make the shooting position what ever the shooter feels comfy shooting in, i.e prone, sitting, kneeling or standing, but the PCP lads cant use a bipod or hamster. Its all off palm shooting. Its all just down to the skill of the shooter and his combo then. At the end we could still have the best pcp and best springer award as well as a 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall. 1 Quote Link to post
