buster gonads 862
I,v also been giving this some thought but same as you Lawrence iam not into the genetics thing, but heres my two bobs worth [for what its worth] on the litter iv seen and the sire and dam, as far as i know the sire is a KC reg dog that works, and the dam is a very good Luguna line whippet that is a very good rabbit dog, the point iam trying to get across is that if the sire is KC reg and if every thing is above board surly there cant have been a out cross to a whippet recently, although i believe whippet and poodle blood were used many years back in some lines so could still throw the odd smooth pup, i dont believe the smooth pup i,v seen will turn ruff coated in the future, its got too fine a coat. Just a point here before i go, i can remember seeing a pic of some champion raceing whippets from years back, before the war i think, and these whippets were ruff coated , anyone else seen that pic. Poacherkev, youv got a nice looking pup anyway, hope it does you proud in the future mate atb, buster. Edited June 23, 2013 by buster gonads Quote Link to post
lawrence 657
can't really argue with anything there Buster, other than to say a kc reg is no guarantee of anything. be interesting to see how your mates pup turns out, might surprise you and go broken. bit of a mute point anyway i suppose as it wont make a button of difference to the pup. sorry for hi jacking your thread Kev, just found it interesting. buster gonads 862
Joe, thats not a photo i,v seen before, the ones iv seen showed the ruff coat up better as they were closer up, got some leg on it though joe, bet that could shift . I had a couple of mates at the pit i worked at that used to race whippets at the weekends, they used to have british champions too at different weights, i remember a message coming down the pit one night off one of the lads wifes to say his whippet due to race in the british champs the next day had knocked the lid off the chip pan on the pantry floor and scoffed all the lard in it it was twice the wieght it should have been, first time i ever saw a face worker cry , needless to say we were all pissing our selves, atb, buster.
