Ive know mike a lot of years and had a few dogs off him over the years but if i was looking for another pup id look elsewhere from working parents.

Yes he has produced some dogs but your going to if you mass produce surely.. mike is a salesman and only intrested in money always has been. were no longer friends as he crossed the line twice with me in ways any real man wouldnt.

ive never seen the mans dogs work even though i asked on numerous occasions but did.eventually when i bought lord of the knight off him.. he was a good dog but no way near what i was told.

He has put a lot of time into hes dogs and ill never doubt.him on that and all were in superb condition just a sly man who is money hungry and will tell you anything.

 

Why did you buy such a famous dog from him,if not to make money yourself?How many litters did he sire for you?

I never used him on any bitches mate as im not and still not in it for the money. Mike phoned me and offered me the dog. How could i refuse at the time ? I bred 3 litters from my old bitch and never charged more than 200 a pup. I even sold some to guys on here for 150 a pup even though i paid full wack for them from mike and could have got 3 to 400 a pup. Imo money has ruined dogs and certain breeds lines because lads out to make a fast buck.. Not me. I bought dog with intention of working him and eventually putting him over hes daughter but he died a few weeks after i got him after an accident.

Hes buried not 30yards from my house now and i loved working the dog. Was a handy tool. Just a shame he died. Atb keith

Not enough of you about fella. So many are in it for money and as soon as you mention having a litter people just see pound signs.

 

I'm taking a litter from my bitch next year and I guarantee that it will cost me more in stud fee and good grub alone than I get back from selling the pups. That's if I sell any at all. Most will be gifted to good lads.

The last litter i bred was a good few years ago and 2 pups went to lads on here and one of them is a good pal till this day and he worked and looked after him properly. Couldn't agree more. I've never had a litter and if/when I do as said it won't be for money. My dogs cost me a fortune, but they are my hobby. I never look to recoup any of the costs.

Im the same buddy. I run only lurchers now but still have 3 whippets in kennels. My old bitch fly who will be coming on 10yr old now . Very good hare bitch in her day and loved feather. Retrieved gundog style. Took a few roe does as well in her time. She was double bred lord of night. There is celt my old dog who was and is till this day best ferreting dog ive ever owned. Exceptional around a warren in hes day. Didnt have the wind for daytime hares and could catch.foxes with ease but as soon as he got bit he was straight back with tail between hes legs. Lol. But would try and draw others!! And a youg dog whos 5yr old who murders reds on occasions. Tbh i did expect too much from the little dogs when i was younger but they got worked and worked hard to everything. Now im a bit older i appericiate the little dogs more and what they done for me. Ill always have one about the yard. Little dogs with big hearts. Atb. Keith

I wasn`t having a pop mate,just a genuine question.I`ve never met MB but have only heard good reports about him.Infact I know a lad who used MB`s stud dog on his whippet bitch and MB only charged him the price of a mongrel lurcher pup.So he can`t be that bad.

A bit like the Greyhounds with Monalee Champion, who if i'm right never won a classic,

but he also is usually in the back breeding.

You have to remember once a dog has a reputation of throwing good stuff, the best broods will go to him.

Going back to racing greyhounds one of the current top studs Westmead Hawk

im sitting next to a 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington, who has a few connections to SS in his breeding.

When it comes to Whippets, especially away from the show stock its hard not too find SS in there somewhere.

ive no idea paulus. i was shown all the pics ect, but to be honest i was more interested in the big black stupid looking lurcher pup . ive a pic of the dam somewhere i'll try and find it when i get five minutes
