I dont know him and to be fair I have heard mixed reviews about him..

 

He aint ever done nothing wrong to me tho

 

On moochers used to be a few more lads that kept and worked whippets..

 

Penny meadows was one I remember.. Seemed a Great Chap and dogs to match

 

 

He does have some very nice dogs (penny meadow), I think some of his carry Mikes blood in them

I sold the main chap there a whip he realy no his whips cud tell me every dog in ped wat they have achieve. Odd thing tho he didnt wana see it work when ofered he just handed me the cash. She wasnt my cupa tea but he seem like her

In the archives Sooty Sam sired some 140 registered whippets whereas from the same owner his great grandson Strike while the irons hot 470 registered whippets.

Ive know mike a lot of years and had a few dogs off him over the years but if i was looking for another pup id look elsewhere from working parents.

Yes he has produced some dogs but your going to if you mass produce surely.. mike is a salesman and only intrested in money always has been. were no longer friends as he crossed the line twice with me in ways any real man wouldnt.

ive never seen the mans dogs work even though i asked on numerous occasions but did.eventually when i bought lord of the knight off him.. he was a good dog but no way near what i was told.

He has put a lot of time into hes dogs and ill never doubt.him on that and all were in superb condition just a sly man who is money hungry and will tell you anything.

and this isnt a grudge or way to get at him in any way. we were good friend for years. still owes me a dog pup infact which im not bothered about. i just think anybody wanting a working whippet could sourse better stuff.

by better stuff i mean proper working tested parents.

The price is between me and the man himself. ! he was a good working whippet no doubt about that i took rabbit hare and fox with him. still have a double bred daughter and son of him but there 9 and 10 and retired.

to be honest i prob expected a little more from him but at end of day he was just a whippet!!

End of the day i think a lot of folk try to compare whippets to lurchers in there working ability which is crazy! A whippet is a whippet you have to take them for what they are! They will never be as versatile as a lurcher.If I had I purchased a whippet thinking its working capabilities were alongside a good lurcher I would of been very disappointed. When I purchased whippets I was more interested that the parents were working! I don't know mike brown but I chap I know of in the next road owned one which turned out a real good one, hard little dog, when his relationship broke down mike brown came down gave him what he played for the dog a year and half later and took the dog back with him. So as far as a breeder goes you can't get much better than that!

I have just recently put a deposit on a whippet pup traveled to stoke to meet a very nice gentleman with an amazing collection of whippets and 7 pups to choose from his dogs had descended from mbs his are proven workers and don't regret it one bit!
