A1WOC 212
As some of you will know, on Friday last I changed the barrel on my .22 TX200HC to .177; the hardest part was removing the.22 barrel that was securely fixed in place with a very tight nut and lots of loctite, at the same time I cleaned, polished and re-greased the action. Over the weekend I put a couple of hundred pellets through it and it is now really smooth and also quite consistent over the chronograph. The chrono readings over a string of twenty four varied by 9fps from the lowest to the highest and produced an average 710fps (9.45ftlb) with AA Field straight out of the tin. I recorded the shots on paper and rather than shoot a group I decided to use individual targets. All 24 shots were composed and carefully taken and felt good without me “pulling” any. As a relative newbie to spring rifles I am very pleased with the results. I hope to regularly shoot it along with my SFS HW97 at the HFT club I am proposing to join after a probationary period. The photos illustrate the accuracy it is presently achieving; I hope to improve it when I have completed a thorough pellet test. The inner circle is 10mm with the outer circle at 25mm, the target was positioned at 25m/27+yd, I was shooting with my hand supported on a beanbag. As you will see the majority of shots are in or touching the 10mm circle. Regards, Steve. Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
excellent! I might start shooting individuals like that instead of groups. I always seem to nack the group after 4th or 5th shot, must be a psychological thing!! haha 2 Quote Link to post

Great shooting after what seems to me, a bit of radical surgery Steve! Simon Many thanks for the kind words. I couldn’t justify buying another TX in .177 so I converted the one I have, I can always change it back to .22 should I need to. Regards, Steve Quote Link to post
