Horrible shock tonight

Just as it was starting to get dark I went back into the Court to add a new ramp for the ferts and got an awful shock.

 

There lying on the floor on it's back was what I thought was one of the ferrets, being ripped apart by the others in what looked like a feeding frenzy.

 

After panicking and rushing over I realised it was the Squirrel I had shot earlier and put in to feed them.

 

I felt like a right idiot.

you had me going for a min there. the other day i went to the court and one was so deeply asleep that it didnt rush to see me i thought for a split second it was dead

I keep checking for "little nipper's" body, as he's wee compared to mine, but he holds his own at feeding time, always the first to latch onto the meat, and dont take no $hit from the others
